The second Productive Family Exhibition and Forum was inaugurated by Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal at the Hilton Hotel here yesterday. Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed also attended the function.
The three-day event is organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the cooperation of the Jeddah Center for Social Responsibility (JCSR) with the slogan “Made in Saudi Arabia” to promote Saudi products and productive families.
More than 25,000 families are participating in the event. A number of officials, businessmen and professionals from the public and private sectors are also taking part. They will discuss the strategic importance of the concept of productive families as an essential pillar of the country’s economy.
Prince Khaled congratulated the families on their manufacturing products at home to promote the name of the country, adding that he would buy some of the products to show his support for the businesses.
He welcomed the efforts of the National Commercial Bank and urged other banks to participate in the venture. Ahmed Al-Hamdan, director of JCSR who is also responsible for the productive families support program, said the aim of the exhibition and forum was to highlight the strategic importance of the concept of productive families as an essential pillar of Saudi economy and to develop a uniform national model.
He said the forum would discuss a number of topics related to leading Saudi companies’ support for productive families, devise a practical framework, develop national and institutional recommendations, classifications and quality control to create competitive products and goods in the local markets, in addition to implementing management configurations for productive families in provinces and small and medium communities.
Ulfat bint Mohammed Kabbani, a businesswoman and supervisor of the JCSR, said this exhibition would give them a platform to showcase their talent and products.
Mazen Batterjee, vice president of the JCCI, thanked Prince Khaled, Prince Mishaal and all those who helped in organizing the exhibition, praising the efforts and role of the government in helping Saudi productive families.
